Preparation and Planning

With less then two months before trip #1 planning and preparation is underway! We received additional documents from the agency and have been working on developing a photo album we will leave in Ethiopia, one in which will introduce us to Minalachew about one month before we return. We also have photo's to give to his birth mother during our meeting on Day 3 of our trip. Grandma Lichty has been anxiously awaiting the news that she will be staying with Kenny while we are gone and I am sure has wonderful things planned to keep him busy while his parents are in a time zone 8 hours ahead of them :).

Now we will also start collecting our donations to give to AHOPE. We contacted them prior to break in regards to our trip and they were excited to share the needs the orphangage in Ethiopia has.....I am hopeful that our trip to that orphangage will allow us to meet the young girl we sponsor through AHOPE as well as having an opportunity to see this wonderful place I have been reading so much about.

Trip two will allow us to leave things at Minalachew's orhpanage, but now Kenny and I are shopping for the perfect present/toy to bring with us to give to Minalachew on trip one! We will attempt to keep this updated more often as we learning more things about this exciting time!
